Riu Palace Tropical Bay

After a 5 week delay as a result of an ice storm that hit the southeast, we made it back to Negril Jamaica, one of our most favorite destinations!  With a couple of good friends in tow, we enjoyed the relaxed ya’mon Jamaican atmosphere as much as ever!

We hired Dudley from Tall Ship Tours to drive us from the airport to the resort. A private transfer is the only way to go! Dudley had cold drinks ready for us and gave us a narrated tour along the way. It was well worth the $30 per person round trip fare.

The resort was fantastic. The beach is so nice with its soft white sand and blue water. We always found beach and pool chairs whenever and wherever we wanted them. We had a first floor room and had some trouble with mosquitoes in the bathroom, but everything else was great. Everyone complains about the process for making dinner reservations. True, it is not the best process, but it works if you really want to experience the specialty restaurants.

The Riu Palace Tropical Bay was as wonderful and I remember! So glad we went back!
